Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transferred via air-conditioned bus to Alexandria. Upon your arrival you will start your tour with a visit to the Greco-Roman Museum with its 27 halls and a lush garden. All these offer you an excellent introduction the Greek and Roman art of Egypt. Continue to Alexandria Library; the largest library in the world which holds a copy of every single book published. The library was inspired by the original library of Alexandria and is located on the same site where the original library was built 2300 years ago within the old royal quarter of Alexandria. You will be served your lunch in a local restaurant or in the fish market. Proceed with your visits to the Catacombs of Kom Shukafa. These tombs were discovered by chance in 1900 after 12 years of searching. The tomb dates back to the 1st or 2nd Century and consists of 4 underground floors. The first and third floors are completely under water. The most significant feature of this tomb is the existence of paintings on its walls which represent 3 different kinds of art – Greek, Egyptian and Roman. Then move to the Roman Theatre and Pompey Pillar. This is the only Roman amphitheater in Egypt and dates back to the 2nd century AD. Pompey pillar was constructed in honor of Diocletian in 292AD. Crusaders gave the pillar its name as they wrongly thought the head of Pompey was buried on the top of the pillar. At the end of the day you will be transferred back to Sharm el Sheikh
